Thank you to all who were able to come out and help put the Morganville quilt together.
Had a good turn out, lots of machines, people to pin, and people to press.
Before our taller members were there - we put the blocks out on the table to start getting an idea of what this quilt was going to look like.
Deb brought the polka dot red - didn't quite work, so the darling person that she is, she drove all the way home and came back with some blue dotted fabric that will be fantastic as the border. Thanks Deb for going over and above.
Machelle, Esther, Susie and Lorraine started putting the blocks on the design wall.
While Janet and Carol sat up machines.
Well? How does it look?
Some of the coffee folks came over to check out the progress. They need to get ticket sales going as folks are already asking for them. Having Dorothy Perry's fabric, helps spark the interest in this quilt.
Few changes here and there so no same fabrics are side by side.....
and here you go. Esther, your red fabric really makes this pattern march across the quilt. And Susie's white premium muslin is the perfect back drop. You do realize that we are getting two for one in this quilt. It will also be kind of patriotic with the red, white, and blue fabrics.
Then it was off to the races and in just over two hours........
it was finished. Whew! Hope we don't have to do that mad rush again so fast.
But we have the crew that can do it.
And do it well. Great job everyone!
Now it is off to Susie to quilt and then over to Deb's to bind.
We also had a little show and tell - natch. hahaha
Barb had sent Susie this bag with directions. Just have to find out where to get the clasp and this will make a darling project to work on. Think of all the tools you can carry in it - or use it for a purse.
While we were packing up, this little item became quite the center of attention. No, Susie did not make it, she found it on the net and fell in love with it. There is a set which includes a cover for your feather weight also. But this little piece fits over your sewing plate for when you fold it up and put it away. Keeps the machine end from scratching up the sewing plate. Hummmmm? Maybe we should figure out how to make some for all the feather weights in our group. Pinterest has quite a few different kinds, click here. Or Ebay and Etsy have people that already did the work for you.
Till July.......be safe and hydrated.
