Deb was going to have to leave early, so we started out with Show 'n Tell.
Deb had this "stuff" on her ruler that she had found out about from a group of Stroke Survivors. Everyone has trouble holding their rulers down and straight for cutting at one time or another, well this skateboarders grip tape really has helped Deb out.

Deb was not sure how many years it took her to finish her travel Iron/Case/Mat, but she finally did it.
Her iron is so cute and fit just right in the case.
The inside is a pressing mat safe fabric. She got the pattern from me (Vevia) and I just happened to have mine along also. Make it the size you need for your travel iron. Have the pattern if you would like to make one.
Remember those months that Jenell was using the design wall to lay out her half square triangles? Well, here it is finished (well except for all the binding being sewn down).
Jenell named it "Field of Diamonds" and it is for her daughter.
Mira Dela (probably goofed up the spelling of her name on that) in Miltonvale quilted it with music notes. The back is perfect for this quilt.
Tried to get a closer look of the quilting. Remember, click on the picture and it will come in larger.
Jenell had a few hst's left, so she made a wall hanging. She's looking for a title for it, I suggested something to do with sails, reminds me of a flotilla of sail boats in a race.
I, Vevia, showed my finished 2018 BOM that Cindy K. and I presented to the Manhattan Guild this year. In 2009, Susie, Iowana and Barb C. had presented "A Tisket, A Tasket, 12 Months of Baskets" from Bunny Hill Designs at the Clay Center guild. Cindy and I got with Anne Sutton of BHD's and received permission to copy the patterns for guild members in Manhattan.
I did mine on point with black floss and had sashing and cornerstones in 22 different FQ fabrics. Big stitch with Pearl Cotton #12 and a #24 chenille needle this time.
And of course a label.
I also had finished my granddaughter's Activity Bed Rug. Janet H. reminded everyone of when we used to make these into books. Things do have a way of coming back around.
SnT over with and everyone got into their projects.
Jenell worked on finishing her binding.
Janet was cutting the foundation squares for her stash buster strip quilt a few of our group are starting in January. Susie had ordered two bolts of "premium" muslin and got this real thin muslin instead. Never one to waste - Susie brought it in for others to use up. (Remember a donation - it's not necessary - but then......)
Carol was working on her "New Year's Resolution" project for the Clay Center Guild meeting this month.
Lorraine was having a little trouble with her machine, so Susie looked at it.
Conclusion - some machines do not like one type of thread in the bobbin and another on top. Plus a new needle always helps. Lorraine is working on a gorgeous quilt - which I failed to get a shot of.
Machelle is trying to finish up her Lynn Doyle workshop project. There was an awful lot of embellishing with embroidery on this one. She has the 9-patches done for the border, but still a few touches here and there on the main. Good thing the fall season runs a little long.
Deb was working with scraps, getting them ready for a project.
Machelle gave us some new info - I bet you all thought that the little pull out tray on some of your machines was to put "stuff" pertaining to sewing in it?! Machelle read where it is also a great place to hide your chocolates. Nope, Machelle forgot to hide any. hahahaha
Susie had taken a coloring class from Erica Plank of "Unseen Hands" in Belleville, and was now embroidering the design. Click here to go to Erica's site. Machelle had heard of this Washi tape and found some. You can use it to decorate not only cards and scrap books, but works well on your rulers for size positioning. Plus who knows what else. Thanks Machelle for sharing.
Machelle also took Janet's measurements for the January project and cut what was needed for her, Carol and Lisa from the remaining muslin. Sorry ladies, she did not cut the blocks, just how much muslin you need for 144 - 9" blocks.

Before everyone left for the day, Jenell finished up her binding. Some of the ladies just relaxed and talked.
And had a few plans for what to do next month.
Christmas Dinner Meeting
Carol is bringing plates, napkins and a dessert
Vevia is bringing the table cloth and a turkey casserole
Deb is bringing a bean dish
Susie may be making a peanut butter pie
Lorraine will bring a meat of some kind
Machelle spinach salad and hot apple cider
Pat G. fruit salad and rolls
Everyone bring their own drinks. Silverware we have thanks to Pat. Let Machelle know if you will be coming and what you might bring. She will keep us all informed.
Still come at 9:30 and bring your handwork or whatever to have some good conversation time.
