December 5th Christmas dinner Scrumptious!!!!!

God bless Susie for opening up early and turning the heat up.  By the time the rest of us started arriving, it was very comfortable inside.  The wind outside made it seem even chilly-er.
Susie is twilling away on a gorgeous new design.  Though here it looks like she is adding worms to some fabric.

When you get closer, you can see there is a rhyme and reason to the squiggles.  Susie is using a variegated gray size 5 pearl with surprises coming later to really make him stand out.

Janet and Lisa will also be twilling away on their own Santa projects.

Janet will tell you that there are a lot of lines to trace on this one.

Juanita got a chance to stop by for a bit and we just had to get a picture of her holiday shirt.

Always something to watch and talk about when the fellowship gather.

Was great to see Pat, and Deb put her right to work.  hahaha
Deb had her ruler there with the skate board non slip stuff on the back AND
Machelle had ordered some and brought it in to share with the rest of us.
Great price - Thanks so much Machelle.  And thank you Deb for letting us know about it.
I have already cut off strips and put on some of my rulers.  Love that you can see through it.

This might be our last time in seeing Jenell.  They hope to be moved before Christmas.  We will miss you Jenell.

Lorraine had a couple of projects with her to work on.  She finished this one.....

and went to planning the border for her stars.  See the insets top left and bottom right?  Packaging!  Anything to catch our eyes and this sure caught mine.  What great "crayons".

Machelle brought in the new design wall to mark from the old one where the holes go.

She also brought in this beautiful cover.  Remember, you can click on the pictures and have them come in a little larger so you can see the detail better.

From top to bottom and around the edges - gorgeous.

Machelle had also brought in the apron pattern she had showed us a few months ago.  And to make sure that Deb knew what was what (there are no directions to the pattern), Machelle made one for Deb to see how it was done

We have some great friends here in our group.
Darn!  I was going to get a better shot of Machelle's knitted Christmas truck and tree on her shirt and forgot to.  It was so cute.

Carol used her time wisely to look through some mags and talk to friends.

Then LUNCH.
Wow!

Regardless what lifestyle you have in your dietary needs, we had it to enjoy.

Cranberry Crunch recipe from Deb
8 cups golden graham cereal (11.5 oz box)
4 cups dry roasted peanuts
4 cups dried cranberries
2 bags vanilla chips
Combine 1st 3 ingredients.  Melt chips and spoon over mix.  Stir to combine and coat.
Turn out on waxed paper to coat.

Afterwards it was time for show 'n tell.

Jenell got her baby blanket top all sewed together.  They are left over blocks.  She got the idea for the block within a block within a block from Donna J. at the CC Piotique Quilters Guild.  Click here for the directions.  Whether done with a layer cake pack or scraps.  So many possibilities.

Susie has been very busy.  She knows a lady that does her own cups.  They are supposed to be better than Yeti's.  Get with Susie if you are interested in ordering your own.  Susie had a Featherweight put on hers.
The snowman is from the class Susie took on coloring in Belleville.  She's not sure how she will use it yet.  Notice the twilled neck scarf.  Really stands out.

Take an old hanky that you want to show off - look at what you can do.
See Susie for particulars.

Susie's mom decided that Susie needed an embroidery machine and after doing the blocks, Susie put it together in a type of window showcase them off - look.  They were beautiful.

Some people!  This is a saved quilt.  Susie saw the top at an auction (I think she said) and got it for $1.  It was not necessarily made very well, but after Susie quilted it - It's a show piece.  Love that older design and the play on effects.
Machelle came across this quilt on line and it is called Glorified 9-patch.
Thanks Machelle.

Way back when, CCPQG had a flower of the month BOM and this is Susie's finished project.
Besides coloring the flowers, she embroidered them and then the quilting really made them pop.

Susie also had her finished CCPQG's New Year's Resolution project to show us
 From start                              to finish

Besides working on the baby quilt, Jenell was also knitting stocking caps

And looking at a new baby quilt layout of scrap blocks and extra fabric.
Some of us work more than others - you think?  hahahahahaha

In the future, we might get a chance to see what Machelle is going to make from this picture.  She got the book fabric and a couple of machine embroidery patterns - so we will see.

Talking about pins.......we have shown the easy grips (purple rubber tops) that you can get at Joanns and then these are ones that Susie gets at Hobby Lobby.
There are so many different types and each have their time and place for use.

We had a great day, it warmed up some outside before it started to plummet again.

Have a wonderful Christmas, safe New Years and we look forward to seeing you all in January.
God Bless!!!!!
