The beauty before the snow Wednesday January 9th

New year, new projects, new techniques - what a wonderful time to be alive and well.
This is the Santa that Lisa is working on.  She decided to color in a few areas and then embroider and twill.

Susie's is on the right.  She is twilling and then will applique on red velvet for Santa's hat.  Same pattern - different directions to go.

Lisa is getting done some UFO's and getting in practice on her long arm.  The star really adds to this simply charm pack design.

Lorraine made this sock monkey that fell in love with the quilt.

If I got it right, Janet started this quilt, Lisa finished it and then worked on her quilting.
Lisa also finished this quilt for a wall in her home.
Remember, you can click on the pictures and have them come in larger so that you can check in closer.

Lorraine finished the top of her star quilt and it's off to the quilters.
Striking color contrast.

Susie's brothers birthday is coming up and this sock monkey quilt should get a grin or two what with "his past".  Ask Susie for the story.

Simple quilt with a piece of fabric

However, the quilting with sock monkeys is what makes it stand out.

This antique baby quilt has some wonderful techniques of the past.  Susie quilted it to show off this design of yesteryear.

Janet had gotten a great start on her strip quilt and proceeded to work on the blocks.  It is going to be a show stopper with those red and whites.

When she was not helping Carol, Lorraine was working on joining squares.

Carol had a goal in mind - get this quilt done for someone's birthday coming up.
Between Susie and Lorraine helping out by sewing up Carol's blocks into rows  .........

and others helping decide borders or not.....
Carol finished the top and it's off to the quilters.

It was a great day to accomplish things.

And to visit with others.

Machelle had brought in some fabric that she was not sure what should be done with it.

And this "Over the Hill VD Doll"  Poke a pin where the symptoms you have are.
Egads!!!!!! Some of us would have a real over filled pincushion.

Carol got a new travel case for her sewing machine.
Pockets galore everywhere - outside and in.
Those are some great girls you have Carol.

Have a safe month.  See you in February.
